Bat licence in Alton, Staffordshire from Stoke-on-Trent ecologists

We have been busy during the winter months therefore our blog has been neglected. Earlier this month we supervised the demolition of an old farm house under licence near Alton, Staffordshire. This property supported a large brown long-eared roost.

Bats are now active and we're preparing ourselves for another busy season. Last week were undertaking great crested newt surveys in Biddulph. Next week we have a number of preliminary bat roost assessments in Hanley, Stoke, Leek and Stafford. If you require a protected species survey in order to complete your planning application, get in touch or visit our website: www.faunaforest.co.uk

Bat survey in Buxton, Derbyshire at an old church

We were over in Buxton, Derbyshire yesterday following an urgent call to survey a church for bats. The church is dilapidated and at a glance, appeared unsuitable for bats. Upon inspecting the cellar, we discovered a large quantity of small bat droppings.
